Tapestry

A Prayer Ministry for Women in the World

God is summoning
His people to grow into Christ, to put off the old nature and to put on a new nature in Christ.  Celebrating this new nature, Tapestry seeks to unite women one to another as sisters in the Lord, laying aside outward differences to weave together in the inward likeness of Christ Jesus.

Cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
The analogy of a tapestry relates to the vision of women woven in unity by God. In the spiritual realm an individual woman - like a single cord of three stands consisting of her past heritage, present prayer life, and future ministry which God is calling forth - allows God to weave her together in prayer with others to become part of a beautifully multi-colored portrait of His living prayer - a TAPESTRY.

Women are being called
to follow the example of a servant's submission to God as particularly described of Mary in Luke 1:38 where she responds: Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be done unto me according to Thy Word.  Mary is an excellent example for any woman.  One may emulate her as a pilgrim seeking God's will in daily choices.  She chose to put self interest aside and allowed the Word to be implanted and to grow, until she gave birth to the Word Incarnate, Jesus Christ.

Allowing God
to do as He will in our life, allowing Him to implant His Word within our heart, and growing daily as we pray, study, and absorb His Word is the heritage of all women following the example of Mary.  At the proper time, at God's appointed time, we too may give birth to the Word, in the form of a ministry, that has taken root within and choose to share this new ministry with our family, friends, and neighbors.

T
apestry proposes
to consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God (Joel 1:14) to weave together in prayer during a Tapestry DAY of PRAYER so that we may all be one that the world may believe that God sent Jesus (John 17:21).

John Wesley said,
"If your heart beats with love and loyalty to Jesus Christ, take my hand."  Susannah Wesley, John's mother, instructed her children in the practice of daily prayer.  Take my hand in prayer for God's call to the women of the world to grow into Christ and into a life of disciplined prayer so that we may teach a new generation of God's ways.

Bonnie H. Shannonhouse
Tapestry Founder & President

I wholeheartedly endorse the vision and purpose of Tapestry, and the leader Bonnie Shannonhouse.  It has been my joyous privilege to be involved with this ministry, and I pray many others will unite with this godly, Bible based, Christ centered vision for uniting people in effective prayer.
